Get em Scott!
Bravo.
You were courageous not turning your camera off when he told you to.
I’ve forwarded this to all my friends!
Hope it all turns out for you!
Jan
Dude,
You have some balls, that’s for sure.
I like your moxie, and I have a feeling you will be getting calls from their city officials about this great site, and that CRAZY video.
What was he thinking to do what he did AFTER he gave you a ticket.
Freakin’ hilarious!
Good luck with this, and good luck with ‘big brother’ knocking on your door, which I’m sure will happen.
You have inspired me to take more stands against Bulls**t stuff in my life.
Thanks
Tommy
thank you, I’m so glad that someone is standing up to lacrosse police department because they have been getting away with this for a long time and nobody wants to listen to the citizens in this area and like you said people don’t have the money to fight there tickets but I wish you all the luck and this will open alot of people eyes to what’s really going on with that speed trap
Trina,
We’ve heard that exact sentiment alot from the citizens of the area.
Thanks for the comment!
Wish us luck!
and you should sue the hell out of that TV Station!
WAVY10? WVEC13? WTKR3?
You will know which station, soon…:)
I worked as an officer in the next county over. This is a money maker for all of southside VA. Fine is 5 dollars per mile an hour over the limit. 64-50=14 14×5=70 three or four per hour=210-280 dollar for the locality. Cop makes around 20 per hour. Officers also know that if the tickets don’t come in, there is no money to pay them.
i am getting more ‘prior’ police making comments, and I’ve got to assume they understand how this makes any officer look that works in this town, and the ‘rep’ they get by just being part of the force.
thanks for the input!
Scott
scott do a story on emporia,va speedtrap.
When is your court date? I might have to come down and watch. Bring a lawyer to fight the cost of court thing. I have always thought that was bogus.
So what is the status? Everything just stops after the end of January? No comments, no updates, no court date? I don’t live anywhere close, just curious? I couldn’t agree with you more!
the commonwealth attorney dropped all charges, oddly the same day she heard i was at the courthouse making copies of other ‘pacing’ tickets…she actually came down to meet me, and tell me she was dropping everything, because ‘she was not comfortable’ with pacing tickets, although the month of copies i had on the counter proved they were still writing them…funny comment, too, she also said she had not seen my videos, but still dropped everything…hmmm. of course, the whole time we were speaking she was looking at my stack of copied speeding tickets that showed some pretty amazing ‘trends’ in this small little town. i dd not pursue it further, but it does beg a thought of why were the charges really dropped if she never saw my videos? the only answer is not a good one, thats for sure…
The demographics of that town closely resemble a recently busted speed trap in Lousiana. In Waterprof La all involved were charged with criminal wrong doing. I support traffic enforcement for dangerous drivers but the cops can’t meet their quota by waiting for dangerous drivers. I often travel rt 58 and have witnessed people being pulled for no apparent violation in several areas. There is no reason good enough to get me to drive through Lacrose. Lacrosse received about $30 as their portion of a fine and I cancelled all business relations in the county. The 1% return of sales tax to the locality would have been thousands. The fine money is divided between the court, state and locality. Hopefully Lacrosse will follow the path of the New Rome Ohio speedtrap.
Thanks to Scott for his efforts.
I would love to know which TV Station
Atleast you’re not in Connecticut, you would’ve gotten another ticket and substantial fine for being on your cell phone with your wife before-hand. And possibly another citation for some sort of’distracted driving’ because you’re videoing yourself with one hand whille you’re driving.
Good luck, give ‘em hell.
